washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. The living room has
been fitted to the highest standard including natural oak floor,
corner settee/sofa bed, LCD TV, SKY TV, DVD, selection of DVD’s,
local information & area maps.
Two
twin rooms on the first floor together with the bathroom & shower.
All bed linen and bath towels included. Electric storage/panel
heating throughout.
Overview
The bustling town centre contains numerous shops, coffee shops,
restaurants, two supermarkets, Scotland’s oldest working cinema,
Springbank, Glengyle and Glen Scotia distilleries, harbour and
promenade.
Castleacres is an ideal location for exploring central and southern
Kintyre with a wetitleh of activities on the doorstep. For golfers the
championship course at Machrihanish is 5 miles to the West on the
Atlantic coast, and the challenging courses at Dunaverty and
Carradale within easy reach.
Outdoor activities abound with various hill walking routes,
including the recently opened Kintyre Trail which can be sub-divided
into daily sections, surfing & wind surfing at Machrihanish and
Westport, and sailing & boat trips from the harbour. Davaar island,
and the cave painting of the crucifix, is accessible via the dhorlin
(shingle bank) at low water. Boat trips to the island of Sanda, &
the Byron Darnton Tavern provide an ideal day excursion.
The area is blessed with numerous sandy beeches including
Machrihanish, Westport, Dunavery, Carskey & Peniver. There are also
numerous smaller beeches and coves located within easy driving
distance of Campbeltown. |
